The more history I learn and the more I watch our current dystopia play out, the more I believe that fascism is a corporate elite undertaking, and not a political one, which isn't what our history books would have us believe.
@jcgregorio @anildash Doesn't have to be either/or -- one take on how Hindenburg wound up picking Hitler as Chancellor was that he was looking for someone who'd defend business interests, who he thought would be pliant. But that doesn't say much about Hitler's motives... and few would say that Hindenburg got it right.
