sebastian büttrich<p>Do you know The Things Network?</p><p>For a grassroots free network on open (ISM) frequencies, coordination and documentation is a bit more challenging - we are only just starting to map the new generation of gateways.<br /><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://social.itu.dk/@dasyaITU" class="u-url mention">@<span>dasyaITU</span></a></span> is hosting and testing a number of gateways, reaching sweden, germany and a lot of the (baltic) sea. <br />Get in touch if you are interested or like to contribute.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.cc/tags/TheThingsNetwork" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TheThingsNetwork</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.cc/tags/LoRa" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>LoRa</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.cc/tags/LoRaWAN" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>LoRaWAN</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.cc/tags/IoT" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>IoT</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.cc/tags/lowPower" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>lowPower</span></a></p>
sebastian büttrich<p>Do you know The Things Network?<br />The idea is to build a free non-commercial low power network for <a href="https://mastodon.cc/tags/IoT" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>IoT</span></a>,<br />for communities, people and businesses to use.<br />Currently, it is made up out of approximately 20,000 volunteer gateways -<br />with the highest density around the project&#39;s origin, the Netherlands.</p><p>The low energy aspect is interesting - we dont need power-hungry <a href="https://mastodon.cc/tags/5G" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>5G</span></a> to collect environmental data.</p><p><a href="https://thethingsnetwork.org" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">thethingsnetwork.org</span><span class="invisible"></span></a><br /><a href="https://ttnmapper.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">ttnmapper.org/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.cc/tags/TheThingsNetwork" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TheThingsNetwork</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.cc/tags/LoRa" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>LoRa</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.cc/tags/LoRaWAN" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>LoRaWAN</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.cc/tags/IoT" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>IoT</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.cc/tags/lowPower" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>lowPower</span></a></p>

Andrew (Television Executive)<p>So let's talk about <a href="https://retro.social/tags/lowpower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>lowpower</span></a> computers? </p><p>I have several computers in my home right now that are always on. They are also pretty OP for the tasks they perform. </p><p>That's fine while I live in an area with abundant and cheap electricity, but if we are producing and storing our own power that becomes less of an okay thing.</p>
