Hmmm.... to cut food waste Tesco is to trial an end-of-the-day food giveaway; bypassing donations to food banks & offering free food direct to customers (although they will be third in line behind charities & the store's own staff).
Its an interesting idea, but much will depend on how its handled - nonetheless if done well it seems like (could be) a good way of both helping reduce food rates & exercising some compassion.
