Matt × 🇳🇴 🇺🇦<p>Logged into Remember The Milk 🐮 (RTM) this morning to see this notification and the idea of some sort of "Spotify Wrapped" for a task manager me chuckle.</p><p>Anyway, RTM is a really nice tool for task tracking and has been going for 20 years. 🤯</p><p>Long live Remember The Milk!</p><p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@emilyboyd" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>emilyboyd</span></a></span><br><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://tech.lgbt/@andrewski" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>andrewski</span></a></span></p><p><a href="https://oslo.town/tags/RememberTheMilk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RememberTheMilk</span></a> <a href="https://oslo.town/tags/RTM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RTM</span></a> <a href="https://oslo.town/tags/RTMstats" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RTMstats</span></a> <a href="https://oslo.town/tags/Tasks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tasks</span></a> <a href="https://oslo.town/tags/TaskManagement" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TaskManagement</span></a> <a href="https://oslo.town/tags/TaskTracking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TaskTracking</span></a> <a href="https://oslo.town/tags/ToDo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ToDo</span></a></p>
njoseph :fbx:<p>If you are used to advanced task tracking systems with projects, tags, subtasks, detailed notes etc. (org-mode or even a full-fledged project management system such as Trello) and not satisfied with the simplicity of a system like ToDo.txt, there is a <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@TiddlyWiki" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>TiddlyWiki</span></a></span> plugin for Task Management. <a href="http://tiddlytables.tiddlyspot.com/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">http://</span><span class="">tiddlytables.tiddlyspot.com/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>It conveniently appears in the side bar, so that you don't have to figure out how to "pin" a tiddler.</p><p><a href="https://social.masto.host/tags/TaskManagement" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TaskManagement</span></a> <a href="https://social.masto.host/tags/todoTXT" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>todoTXT</span></a> <a href="https://social.masto.host/tags/TiddlyWiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TiddlyWiki</span></a> <a href="https://social.masto.host/tags/FreedomBox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FreedomBox</span></a></p>

Isaac Wyatt<p>For folks who spend most of their time using a terminal while at the computer, do you use a CLI-based task manager like Taskwarrior, Todo.txt, Org-Mode, or something else?</p><p>If you _do_ spend most time in the terminal but _dont_ use a CLI-based to-do tool, why not?</p><p><a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/gtd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gtd</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/terminal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>terminal</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/taskmanagement" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>taskmanagement</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/todo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>todo</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/CLI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CLI</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/commandline" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>commandline</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/Productivity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Productivity</span></a></p>
𝕂𝚞𝚋𝚒𝚔ℙ𝚒𝚡𝚎𝚕<p>These are the four best-known task management systems in text form on the computer. Serge from Babka<p>I've been thinking a lot about the way I manage my todo list and project management lately.</p><p>90% of what I do is just a set of "home rules" on existing systems.</p><p>Is that something you'd be interested in?</p><p><a href="https://babka.social/tags/todo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>todo</span></a> <a href="https://babka.social/tags/TaskManagement" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TaskManagement</span></a></p>
Serge from Babka<p>Today I saw the end of my todo list.</p><p>This is a small victory, but nonetheless a significant one. I don't think I've seen the bottom of my todo list for years.</p><p>Last week, one day I had no A or B level tasks, just C level. It didn't last long, but the significance of these victories has meant a significant reduction in my stress.</p><p>All of this is largely due to a few tweaks to my todo management system, a system I've been working on and tweaking since ~2007 and which I continue to refine.</p><p>Maybe one day I'll get it right :)</p><p><a href="https://babka.social/tags/TaskManagement" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TaskManagement</span></a> <a href="https://babka.social/tags/TodoList" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TodoList</span></a></p>

Hazel Weakly<p>One of my biggest struggles right now is managing my ever growing list of Shit To Do That Doesn't Have A Deadline. Or stuff that has a deadline of "by (some vague time that's further away than next week)", which is functionally the same thing</p><p>Do y'all have any better strategies for this? I just have a Todo notepad in my phone that becomes a black hole dumpster fire, and it's not sustainable.</p><p><a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/adhd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>adhd</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/taskManagement" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>taskManagement</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/todo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>todo</span></a></p>
Roni Laukkarinen<p>I asked about what people use for tasks on Mastodon.</p><p>Surprisingly many</p><p>- do not use ANY task management and store things in their brain (that's crazy from my perspective)<br>- do not use any kind of mobile task management<br>- use pen an paper (see two previous)<br>- use some hacky terminal/code based task management methods (again, no mobile or cross platform)<br>- do not use any time blocking methods (seeing tasks in calendars with estimated times to complete)</p><p>I couldn't live my life like that. :blob_smile_sweat2: <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/Productivity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Productivity</span></a> <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/Tasks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tasks</span></a> <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/TaskManagement" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TaskManagement</span></a> <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/Apps" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Apps</span></a></p>
