fetishizing ‘hygge’ is also disrespectful to the billions of people living near the poverty line, to whom the concept of “just chill out dude, drink some hot chocolate, spend time with friends and your war-ravaged nightmare of a life will be just fine!" is really quite foreign
never understood people’s obsession with ‘hygge’. It’s a sad world if we need to look for trendy words to define something that should just be one of the many ordinary facets of life. Noone has a monopoly on happiness and there’s more to it than candles, wool and being Danish.
